There are a zillion great, old films for free on youtube. I wanted to bring them together on one blog for lovers of older films or people who want to learn about film history and see some of the best films ever. When I was younger there was a theater called the Parkway (in Chicago) that showed such films. It was torn down (so it goes). Intolerance by D.W. Griffith 1916
If you are a serious student of film history, this film is de rigueur. Hopefully you'll have a bottle of wine (or two) handy, because it is over 3 hours long.
I once saw this whole film at Anthology Film Archives in NY City, about 10 years ago, and I don't remember anything from it! I spent 3 hours watching this, and can't remember one image. I guess I'll watch it again and pay attention this time.
